Season IX

Season IX

Our first rehearsal is on Sept. 15 on the Rochester Christian University campus. Generally, we plan to meet on the first and third Sundays of each month through the year. Though we are less worried about COVID and other illnesses, than we have been in recent years, please stay away from rehearsals if you have symptoms. We have online resources that will allow you to rehearse on your own, or you can schedule a special session with the director.

We have enjoyed eight great seasons of rehearsing and singing in a variety of venues, and we look forward to our new season in the Fall of 2024, which will include virtual and face-to-face options. We are also excited about welcoming new singers to our group and getting to know them, including current students at RCU. Please visit the registration page for more information.

Concerts for this season:

Over the summer, we gave a concert on June 1 in the Slater-Montgomery Family Chapel in Lake Norcentra Park on the campus of Rochester University. We have decided that this will become an annual tradition to hold an outdoor concert in this space. We are planning for a repeat of that concert on June 7, 2025.

We will be joining the Rochester Community Chorus and the Rochester Community Concert Band on Dec. 3 at 7:30 pm at Avondale High School for a holiday concert. In addition, we will join other choral organizations in the greater Rochester area for the annual Rochester Community Christmas Concert at St. Andrew Church in Rochester on Dec. 8 at 7:30 pm. This annual tradition has welcomed our group for over 25 years. We will prepare a couple of Christmas selections for our part of the concert, and will also learn and perform the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah with the other choirs in attendance. We will also join the St. Paul’s UMC Choirs for a special performance of Mozart’s Requiem on Good Friday, April 18 at 7:00 pm at St. Paul’s UMC.

Other concerts and singing opportunities may present themselves during the season, which we will embrace as we can. Please visit our page Book a Concert to request a concert in your church or other community venue.
